On-street Parking

Guidelines to avoid tickets and towing

Street ParkingParking on the street near our hotel is free, Street cleaning occurs four times a week between 11am and 12:30pm. Cars double park at that time. See the posted signs for exact times. If you do not move your car for street cleaning, it will be towed by the police.

Parking Meters Parking on Broadway comes with a price — meaning only on rare occasions is it free. That said, be sure to read the instructions carefully as some meters have time limits or suspension days. Meters accept cash, coins, NYC parking cards, and in many cases, major credit cards.

Fire HydrantsParking is not allowed within 15 feet (4.5 m) of either side of a fire hydrant.

Crosswalks, Street Corners, Pedestrian Ramps, and DrivewaysCrosswalk signals or not, every street corner is considered a ‘crosswalk’ by the city of New York and cannot be blocked by a parked car. The same rules apply to pedestrian ramps and driveways; these areas cannot be blocked.

Yellow LinesUnlike other cities, yellow lines on the curb or concrete have no meaning unless accompanied by a parking restriction.
